Understanding Grief.
Becoming More Confident in Care
Grief is a universal experience, yet many people feel unsure how to respond when someone is living with loss.
GIDII offers education and facilitated conversations that help workplaces and communities recognise grief, talk about it more openly and offer thoughtful support.

Why Learn About Grief
People carry loss into ordinary life: meetings, classrooms, friendships and family routines. Sometimes the loss is known. Sometimes it remains private or goes unrecognised.
Understanding grief helps us make room for different experiences and consider what support someone might welcome. We all grieve differently.
What Sessions Explore
Grief following death and other significant losses
• The relationship between change, identity and loss
• Listening and beginning sensitive conversations
• Offering practical support and maintaining connection
• Respecting personal, cultural and spiritual differences
• Recognising the limits of our role and when further support may be needed

How We Work
Sessions combine accessible learning, reflection, storytelling and discussion. Documentary material may be used where appropriate to the topic and audience.
Kathie draws on her interfaith chaplaincy and end-of-life doula training, documentary research and lived experience. Participants are welcome to reflect without sharing personal experiences.

For Workplaces & Communities
Enquiries are welcome from employers, community groups, education settings and organisations seeking a more thoughtful approach to grief and loss.
We begin by discussing your audience, the context and what you want participants to understand or feel more confident doing.
